The Most Important thing in life is making memories with those you love...
What a wonderful trip! Definitely different from vacations of the past, pre-children..but definitely good different!
Every day at sunrise and sunset, Dolphins, Manatee's, Herons and other exotic birds welcomed us with their presnce...The girls thought this was the best..Emsley would sit in her high chair for 15-20 minutes waving at the birds and saying "Hi"...Olyvia was more interested in saying hello to other tourists who passed us by on the beach...She was definitely a hit with other families..One morning at Starbucks, Olyvia asked a Gentlemen who was in line in front of us, "What is the magic word?"..Surprised, he said "I dont know, what is it"..Olyvia smiled and said, "Mischka, Muschka, Mickey Mouse"...We all laughed..
Our accommodations were wonderful..the resort, www.southseas.com, was gorgeous..The Island itself is only three miles long, and reminded me of the Caribbean..
It was also an exciting week for the girls..Emma is walking more and more, she humms the songs I sing her goodnight, and she has fallen madly in love with Olyiva...Olyvia....... has minimal fear of the pool this year, her social skill soared this week..she made Friends with every child at the pool...both girls saw a lizard, dolphin and Manatee for the very first time..and they both have a new favorite book.."Are you my Mother" by Dr. Seuss, compliments of Aunt Betty!
Traveling for a week with two children so young is a challenge, no doubt about it, however we all made it work..
My favorite part of the trip was our last morning..We were sitting watching the dolphins one last time and Olyvia hugged and kissed me..She said "Thank you Mom, I love you..We come back and visit the dolphins another day"...Emsley was sitting in her chair next to us and smiled at this very moment...I knew at this point that we had made memories...
