Oopsy Daisy Fiddle dee dee...

Come and play in the garden with me....

Olyvia Grace

Things have been pretty crazy around here..I have been meaning to write updates on the girls and time seems to just pass me by... I will begin with Ms. Olyvia..

I think it is almost necessary for me to begin with Olyvia's BIG news...Olyvia will begin pre-school in the Fall..Not a Day Care, a real pre-school..yes, she is only two, and many question the necessity or value of beginning a child in school at such a young age..But those who know Olyvia agree on one thing..she is smart, very smart. Ms. Laurie, her teacher was amazed at Olyvia's knowledge, and even suggested placing her in the three year old program. We disagree with this option, at least for now. The curriculum for the two year old program is to begin structure and to introduce the school setting in a childs life. This program also introduces letters, numbers, shapes ect..all of which Olyvia knows. I think of how this little spirit started off and I truly believe that most any child can thrive when surrounded by love. We are starting her off with a two day week, which we consider appropriate for her age. We are determined to make this Spring/Summer fun filled before we welcome structure and curriculum into her life. (Remaining positive)

Thursdays...
Are still filled with Kindermusik..This is by far her favorite day of the week..At some point every day she asks if she can go to class..Daily I hear her reciting songs that she has learned..word by word, note by note, every detail, she has memorized them all! (all 22 of them!) I have stated this in the past, and I will say it again...Olyvia is going to be our little musician...

Language..
Oh my goodness! Olyvia is like her mother, a chatter box! And, like her mother she even talks in her sleep!

A big sister she is!
Olyvia is always ensuring her little sisters safety is met, and gives big hugs and kisses when Emsley cries..I love watching the interaction between the two..Boy, am I in for a treat in the next few years!

There is only one subject where Olyvia is still struggling..
her weight, her eating habits, and her oral sensory integration. Yesterday we had an office visit with our Pediatrician and she is referring us back to therapy. Although Olyvia is thriving in every way, there is becoming a big concern on how how tiny she is, and her dislike for food. I have been researching this topic like crazy and I hope that I can somehow help the progress...I do not think she can continue to live on yogurt drinks and Pops!

I can honestly say that I have been blessed in every way with this beautiful little girl that I am honored to call, my daughter...
