Inspiration....

"It is the Law that any difficulties that can come to you at any time, no matter what they are, must be exactly what you need most at the moment, to enable you to take the next step forward by overcoming them. The only real misfortune, the only real tragedy, comes when we suffer without learning the lesson." - Emmet Fox -

The Ryle Family Pre-School

So, what happens to a home that occupies two children, ages one and two?
It turns into a Pre-School!!
You can ask..myself..my neighbors, friends..anyone..We used to have nice things, valuable, breakable adult like things..Everything had its place..Everything felt warm and exact..Now, it is
CHAOS, and that is O.K..
Due to my ultra high maintenance children, we have begun transforming our home. The basement is now one giant Pre-School...I have set up an arts and crafts area, music section, "food and house pretend play station", T.V. section, reading and learning section and train station.. Perfect for all the little people! I have ensured every safety precation has been met, and yes, this has given me time...Time to do dishes, talk on the phone, do laundry..whatever I wish for 10-15 minutes at a crack..the girls are happily occupied...
Now..onto the rest of the house..The bathroom and kitchen will be gutted this year, and soon..perhaps twenty years from now I can once again enjoy the breakable things of my past!

We will always have each other...

Oopsy Daisy Fiddle dee dee...

Come and play in the garden with me....

Olyvia Grace

Things have been pretty crazy around here..I have been meaning to write updates on the girls and time seems to just pass me by... I will begin with Ms. Olyvia..

I think it is almost necessary for me to begin with Olyvia's BIG news...Olyvia will begin pre-school in the Fall..Not a Day Care, a real pre-school..yes, she is only two, and many question the necessity or value of beginning a child in school at such a young age..But those who know Olyvia agree on one thing..she is smart, very smart. Ms. Laurie, her teacher was amazed at Olyvia's knowledge, and even suggested placing her in the three year old program. We disagree with this option, at least for now. The curriculum for the two year old program is to begin structure and to introduce the school setting in a childs life. This program also introduces letters, numbers, shapes ect..all of which Olyvia knows. I think of how this little spirit started off and I truly believe that most any child can thrive when surrounded by love. We are starting her off with a two day week, which we consider appropriate for her age. We are determined to make this Spring/Summer fun filled before we welcome structure and curriculum into her life. (Remaining positive)

Thursdays...
Are still filled with Kindermusik..This is by far her favorite day of the week..At some point every day she asks if she can go to class..Daily I hear her reciting songs that she has learned..word by word, note by note, every detail, she has memorized them all! (all 22 of them!) I have stated this in the past, and I will say it again...Olyvia is going to be our little musician...

Language..
Oh my goodness! Olyvia is like her mother, a chatter box! And, like her mother she even talks in her sleep!

A big sister she is!
Olyvia is always ensuring her little sisters safety is met, and gives big hugs and kisses when Emsley cries..I love watching the interaction between the two..Boy, am I in for a treat in the next few years!

There is only one subject where Olyvia is still struggling..
her weight, her eating habits, and her oral sensory integration. Yesterday we had an office visit with our Pediatrician and she is referring us back to therapy. Although Olyvia is thriving in every way, there is becoming a big concern on how how tiny she is, and her dislike for food. I have been researching this topic like crazy and I hope that I can somehow help the progress...I do not think she can continue to live on yogurt drinks and Pops!

I can honestly say that I have been blessed in every way with this beautiful little girl that I am honored to call, my daughter...

Bow Wow Wow...Whose Dog Art Though?

I am Emsley's Dog Bow Wow Wow...

Emsley Mila

Oh...My baby...My little bitty baby..how you make me smile..

Although there has been no independent walking, Emsley is getting around just fine! Wherever Olyvia is, you are sure to find Emsley...

Personality...
I can vividly remember Olyvia at this age...everything from the wind blowing on her face to the new textures and sounds being introduced..everything is amazing at his age...and I am still amazed watching..Emsley has a very strong personality...She is outgoing, vivacious, funny, intelligent, sweet, and like her mother she is becoming quite the hypocondriact. She is very expressive. By this I am referring to her expressions, and her temperaments.

Emsley's eyes say it all...
She never wants to miss a thing...She dislikes sleeping, very opposite of her sister, and whether we are out shopping, sitting at a restaurant, or taking a stroll through the neighborhood...Emsley is always watching...She does not miss anything, whether it be a light she spots on a ceiling, to a little girl eating ice cream, or an airplane in the sky...Emsley sees it all...those big beautiful eyes..She is dashing...

(I needed to add this for a quick moment...As I sit hear and type I hear Olyvia talking to Emsley through the baby monitor...)

"It is O.K. Emma..Why are you crying?? Mommy will make it all better"..I am hear Emma...

Too cute...back to my post!

Kindermusik...
This is Emsley's first year in Kindermusik, and she loves it...the title of this post is her favorite song in class!!! It is a riot watching her..she makes the "Bow Wow" sound, kicks her feet and shakes...I need to video tape this!

Language..
Emsley now points to everything and says "THIS"...It is nice that she is able to tell us what she wants, although it seems she wants everything...I do not know where to set limits as to all of her needs! LOL!! She also says, LEEVY, Bailey, Mamma, Dadda, Bye Bye and Hi"...

Stay a baby as long as you like...
Emsley is completely off of the bottle. In the next several weeks I am considering saying Bye-Bye to her pacifier...She is only allowed her pacifier at bedtime, and for selfish reasons, I am not in a hurry to rid this last piece of infancy...

You will always be my miracle baby...

Emsley my beautiful and exotic miracle...You brought life back to me, you made me smile again, in a way I think you saved me...You are my heart, my soul..and between you and your sister...you encompass all of my heart...I am honored to be your mother and feel overly blessed to have you as my daughter..

Thank you, for being you....

Boys...?!?!?!

Boys...

It starts early..Seriously. I am speaking of the way boys and girls interact with one another..Last weekend we spent our Saturday with a wonderful group that we have been friends with forever! We all have children, ranging in age from 6 months to four years. In total, there are six children, and Olyvia and Emsley are the only girls in the group.

Lets start with "getting ready"..When the girls woke from their naps I told them we were going to see Mikey and Cameron..Olyvia, screeched, "Oh my gosh, I am so excited" and quickly began looking through her dresser. Emma chimed in not knowing what was so exciting, but we all chuckled over this..she follows everything her sister does, always. After dressing Olyvia, she went right to her hair bows, and said "bow Mamma"..It appeared she wanted to be PERFECT considering it is usually a fight to put her hairbows in!

When we arrived at Matt and Kates, Olyvia and Emsley were all over the boys...and the boys were all over the girls! Cameron and Olyvia chased each other throughout the house only stopping to hug and kiss..I informed Kate that one day we may be planning their wedding! It was very cute...To this day, every time we get into the car Olyvia asks "Boys House Mamma?".."BOYS!"...

AGH! What are we in for???
