Sweet Olyvia

My sweet, sweet Olyvia...
How she loves her books...She sits for hours turning the pages of her favorite books and babbling....if you are lucky enough to be around to see this, you will probably be drawn in by the moment and sit next to her. As sweet as can be she will turn around n front of you, and carefully sit down on your lap backwards...this is how she loves to read...adorable!
She loves the outdoors, her new playset and swing...and she loves, loves to walk around the neighborhood smiling and talking to whomever happens to be around....the neighbors adore her.
She is still facinated by shoes and her feet...I am going to have so much fun shopping at DSW with her in the coming years! I think she is going to think the store is "heaven"....
Jim took her to a birthday party at "Pump it up" today and he watched her stare at a garbage can for quite a few minutes. When he walked over he realized she was singing her ABC's to the company name imprinted on the side of the can...how smart...anytime she notices letters she associates them with her ABC's...so smart!
She is sooo tall....she is still a tiny thing, but in length she is definitely growing!!
What has she learned this month? She is learning colors, she can say "purple, red, orange and blue"....she does not know how to point out the colors, but she can verbally speak them....she is a chatter bug like me!
She loves the songs "Last Dollar" and "Its a Great Day to Be Alive"....she loves music and coloring...she is so creative!
My sweet Olyvia..we fall in love with you over and over...

We hit the two month mark!

.....and we are sleeping 6 hours throughout the night! Well, most nights...WOO HOO!!
So much...we are all doing great! Jim is on vacation so we have been spending our days at museums, the zoo, walks outside...just alot of family time...I can tell Olyiva really likes it when the three of us are together acting silly and getting out of the house. Once we get her outside we cannot get her back in!! She literally cries when it is time to head in...This summer is going to be tons of fun for her!! Emma may be strapped to the Baby B Jorn, but I think she will love the fresh air and silly kid noises!
Olyvia was called a "Diva" by a worker at the Childrens Museum at Navy Pier....Olyiva just loved her, Briana, and through the dancing, big smiles, bow in her hair that matched the outfit, she saw it fit to call her a "Diva"...Diva it is I laughed!
Olyvia has the same personality as I...the gift to gab, and the enjoyment in meeting new people...She walks around waving saying "HIIIIIII" to everyone as she blows the kids kisses...Such a friendly girl!!

Return to work:(

Back to work
March 29, 2008
I returned back to work on Thursday.
Wednesday evening, I wept thinking of leaving the girls and what I would miss out on throughout the day. I thought of breakfast, our morning dance to "Last Dollar", Emma's welcoming smile as she awakens at 9:00 a.m....I thought of it all...I missed these moments before I even laid my head down that evening.
As I grabbed my purse (yes, purse not diaper bag!) and headed out the door I kissed my family good-bye and headed to work. Sad...
On my way to work I began to think...We are grateful that we are able to care for our children without childcare. We may lose out on a few hours of sleep, but in the end, our children will always have us, and the comfort of familiar faces. I remebered how my father struggled all of those years working multiple jobs to care for us so my mother could be a stay at home mom. I never wanted my husband to miss out on all of the joys of his children, so I have to work. I have to work to give my girls opportunities. I have to work to ensure we can purchase them their first car (even if it is old and rusted) and so we can go on family vacations. I have to work to ensure their is money for their college tuitions, and for prom dresses and accessories....
I have to work so my husband and I can still enjoy one GOOD night out and not worry that we are taking from the girls...
I have to work......and it is O.K.....
Yes I am sad..I look over this site at least once an hour to remind myself of this...and I smile...
Everything will work out, it always does

All about Emma-Happy Easter!!

This entry is all about my Emma...as she has hit a milestone..two months, healthy and happy...she is amazing!
Emma's meltdowns and colic are ending, her feeding is sooo much better....slowly she has one melt down per night, and well...it is totally tolerable...
At two months...
Emma smiles...she smiles all of the time....and when she hears either Jim's or my voice she turns, and smiles even more..she even makes a little chuckle sound....She loves Livy...When we lie them next to each other, she chuckles at Livy with the biggest smiles!
She uses her hands to hit some toys, she loves watching Baby Einstein, and she is slowly adjusting to her crib and bassinet. Her sleep area of choice, our bed...with us next to her....I know, I know...bad habit...but I enjoy it...Jim enjoys it...Emma enjoys it...and well...I cannot imagine her not between us....She is part of our nightly sleeps.
She looks beautiful in purple, and well...she looks just like Jim...As she gets older, the only thing she has of mine is my hands and feet...
Her eyes are still blue, her skin fair...she is beautiful!
Emma truly is a gift..a miracle..and her name, more fitting than ever as she continues to prove just how miraculous God truly is...
Happy Easter!
