The lap baby..

I can tell you one thing that I love about Emma, she is a lover..She loves to be held, she loves to be kissed and hugged. She loves to GIVE kisses and hugs even more!!

Emma will sit on my lap for hours just watching T.V. or reading a book...there is nothing this sweet, sweet girl loves more than being in the warm loving arms of another...Of course this comes with consequence, such as not being able to make dinner, do laundry or anything else for that matter without Emma in my arms..but it is O.K..in a few years I will miss this...

Emma is not saying much as of yet, her vocabulary consists of, Mom, Dad, Bailey, Livy, Nai Nai, Fish, Grace, Bye and Hi"...She makes many sounds, mostly of animals and loves to dance with her sister...Her favorite show is Yo Gabba Gabba and High-5, mostly because of the singing and dancing. She is a musical Gal like Livy.

Emma is also my child who has no fear. Unlike Livy, Emma has bruises all over her legs as reminders of every slide she attempted to climb- but fell, the deck she simply walked off, as she did not realize their was a drop, and the bike she tries desperately to ride although it is just to big for her. She is brave and she is a dare devil...I love her...

Emma is growing up fast as she tries to keep up with her sister and friends, but my baby she will always be...

Testing

Over the next few days I thought I would write brief updates on each of the girls as they are hitting some pretty big moments in their lives...Let us begin with Ms. Olyvia...

The two and a half mark..Agh-Oh!! So, is it the terrible twos, or terrible two and a halfers?? It may be that Olyvia has a very high intelligence level for her age. Her vocabulary, personality and independence all reflect that of a 3-4 year old...However..like every other toddler her age, she is testing us, but to the extreme..I will admit that as far as parenting goes I feel as if I am failing in some respects. When it comes to discipline, well..I have always been a fan of the "time-out"..However, my Olyvia has begun putting herself in a time out, literally this is how it goes...after Olyvia has done something she is not allowed to do I will say "Olyvia..." and before I can finish, Olyvia will put her hand up and say "I know Mom, time-out", and she will sit in the corner and look at the wall...O.K..now what?

We have also hit a stage where Olyvia only wants to cuddle in mommies bed in the evening..She refuses to sleep in her bed, and as much as I try letting her cry it out or take away her favorite nighttime sweater, nothing works. She told me last night she will keep crying as she threw her sweaters over the fence. (By the way, she now climbs over the fence to escape)! O.K...now what?

Through this trying period, she remains as sweet as always. Her new favorite show is Sid the Science Kid, she wants to continue playing soccer, dress up is an every day occurrence, and there are days in which we cannot take the tutu off. In fact, their are days the tutu remains on even throughout the night. Her imagination is fascinating at this age. On our walk she may say, "Mommy do you see the pink elephant, look there it is"...or.."Mommy, there is Kimmies house"..Kimmy, by the way is her imaginary friend...I love it!!

I am going to attempt potty training in the next few weeks, she is now telling me when to change her diaper, I think she is ready. (YEAH!)

All in all, Olyvia is doing quite well, and enjoying her days outside with her sister and friends!

Oops..It made a noise, Mom!

TOO FUNNY..

I had to write a quick post before I forgot this incredibly hillarius morning...
I was on the phone with my sister and changing Olyvia's diaper at the same time. Olyvia tooted during the process, and said, "oops, my butt made a noise Mom"...

I will be laughing at this one all day....

Summertime Firsts

We are beginning the summer on a positive note..In the next few weeks Olyvia will begin her soccer camp and both girls will return to music class...before the craziness begins, I wanted to take them on a fabulous weekend away to their Papa and MeMe's.... Both girls had the opportunity to see a real live frog for the very first time...they did not particularly find the froggy as cute as the ones they read in their books..do you blame them? Livy ran away screaming, "THAT'S GROSS"!! This weekend was the first weekend at the pool, what fun they had with Pappa! Onto Mommy's favorite..S'MORES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Emsley was not as fond of them as Olyvia, but I do believe making marshmallows with Pappa was Olyvia's favorite part of the weekend!! We also took the girls to the horse stables. I continue to introduce Olyvia to horses in hopes she will one day like to ride them. Unfortunately this year she would not even go near a horse, she kept saying, "Mommy I'm scared"...Maybe next time. Emsley on the other hand, well she immediately hopped onto the horse...she smiled, laughed...she seemed to really be enjoying herself, UNTIL...you got it...he moved his head...YIKES! Emsley realized the horse was REAL and not like the one we have in our basement. Her mouth opened, no sound...her arms went up and she began to shake..her eyes got even wider, and within seconds a scream like no other was let out...she was so scared...my poor babies...they really are Princesses aren't they?
